Responsibilities
- Transform the software development lifecycle by embedding AI and autonomous agents across requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, operations, and incident response.
- Establish platforms, context and knowledge systems, evaluation frameworks, testing strategies, and engineering guardrails for safe, scalable, higher-autonomy engineering.
- Provide architectural leadership for highly available, high-throughput distributed systems serving millions of users.
- Guide teams on scalability, reliability, resilience, performance, security, and cost while establishing patterns that prevent systemic failures.
- Build common platform primitives and shared capabilities across Grab’s businesses, products, and engineering organisations.
- Create reference architectures, engineering principles, reusable patterns, and technical guardrails that enable autonomous teams.
- Lead cross-team architectural initiatives and help teams evaluate trade-offs and converge on durable architectures.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering and system design.
- At least 5+ years of experience in principal engineer or architect roles.
- Experience driving AI-enabled engineering transformation, including coding agents, agentic workflows, context and knowledge systems, automated testing, evaluations, and engineering guardrails.
- Experience architecting and scaling large distributed systems and platforms serving millions of users with demanding reliability and availability requirements.
- Experience building or leading shared platform capabilities adopted across multiple products, business lines, or engineering organisations.
- Experience leading cross-team architectural initiatives and influencing senior engineers and engineering leaders without direct reporting authority.
