Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, implement, and support applications and databases.
- Integrate third-party products and ensure application performance requirements are met.
- Architect and guide complex data flows across distributed services, APIs, and platforms.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-quality data engineering solutions.
- Optimize database architecture and implement performance and scalability improvements.
- Develop and automate ETL/ELT pipelines and data products using cloud-based platforms.
- Promote deliverables through development, test, and production environments and provide production support.
- Conduct functional, technical, security, design, code, and test inspections.
- Provide software development architecture and methodology expertise, mentor less-experienced staff, and resolve escalated issues.
- Ensure compliance with information technology and information security policies and requirements.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in application development, system architecture, and database management.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency with AWS data engineering services including S3, Glue, Lambda, SQS, IAM, Step Functions, DynamoDB, EKS, and ECS, and/or Databricks technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Data Mesh architecture, Data Product Design, and ETL/ELT pipeline development and automation.
- Strong expertise in Python, PySpark, and SQL for large-scale data processing and engineering.
- Experience with data quality frameworks, performance optimization, and scalable cloud-native data architectures.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and infrastructure as code using GitHub Actions, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
- Experience with API-based and file-based integration patterns, including authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Exposure to generative AI technologies including RAG, agent development, MCP, A2A communication, and prompt engineering is preferred.
