Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain advanced compiler technologies and software components.
- Implement new compiler features and resolve complex software defects.
- Analyze applications, workloads, and benchmarks to identify optimization opportunities.
- Improve the performance and efficiency of compiler-generated code for Intel CPU architectures.
- Conduct functional, performance, scalability, and stress testing.
- Partner with hardware architects and platform teams to enable new processor capabilities.
- Collaborate with global engineering, validation, and performance teams.
- Contribute to open-source compiler initiatives and industry standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the engineering organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Informatics, or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of professional software development experience using C/C++.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures.
- Experience optimizing software for CPU performance and efficiency.
- Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to independently drive technical investigations and deliver solutions.
- Preferred: master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Preferred: experience with vectorization, parallel programming models such as OpenMP, and compiler development using LLVM or similar frameworks.
- Preferred: knowledge of assemblers, linkers, low-level system software, compiler optimizations, code generation, and CPU architecture.
- Preferred: experience tuning software performance across complex workloads and familiarity with performance profiling tools such as perf.
