Responsibilities

Design and implement robust, resilient, and scalable backend services for a critical market-infrastructure service.
Contribute to technical design, solutioning, coding, testing, and the broader product engineering lifecycle.
Build and maintain event-driven microservices and cloud-native applications using Scala and AWS.
Develop and maintain DevOps pipelines and promote engineering quality, resilience, performance, and observability.
Contribute to technical direction, engineering standards, collaboration, and the continued evolution of the business.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in scaled agile environments and participate in sprint ceremonies.

Strong expertise in Scala, including functional and object-oriented programming, concurrency, multithreading, data structures, and algorithms.
Proven experience delivering enterprise-grade Scala applications in production environments.
Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, Domain-Driven Design, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Experience building DevOps pipelines, ideally using GitLab.
Experience with JUnit, Cucumber, Gherkin, PACT, and Testcontainers for shift-left testing.
Working knowledge of Kafka, MQ, SQL, Postgres, AWS S3, Flyway, Liquibase, AWS Aurora, MSK, and IAM.
Experience working with AWS or another major public cloud platform and a basic understanding of cloud networking.
Experience with Akka, Play Framework, Cats, or Scalaz is expected for Scala application development.
Some experience writing applications in Java and developing web applications using ReactJS.
Experience working within Scrum and Kanban frameworks and collaborating in scaled agile environments.
