Senior Customer Engineer, Named - Houston, TX
CloudflareResponsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives to lead technical discovery, architecture design, product demonstrations, and proofs of concept across Cloudflare Security, Networking, and Developer Platforms.
- Lead or oversee technical onboarding and implementation while serving as the primary executive and engineering contact for customers.
- Own customer discovery, demos, adoption, technical health, risk management, and expansion strategy throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Carry a variable quota tied to new business acquisition and/or account growth, and identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
- Lead technical Quarterly Business Reviews that translate platform capabilities into business value and return on investment for C-level stakeholders.
- Use AI agents and internal platforms to automate RFP and security questionnaire responses, sandbox provisioning, and basic telemetry monitoring.
Requirements
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Forward Deployed Engineering; required experience varies by level.
- Broad technical expertise in web security, networking including routing, DNS, and DDoS mitigation, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise architecture.
- Experience operating in a quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environment and understanding of SaaS metrics, business value translation, and enterprise sales cycles.
- Exceptional presentation and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to connect technical implementation details with C-suite business strategy.
- Hands-on experience with Workers AI, AI Gateway, and Vectorize is desirable.
- Experience with prompt engineering, large language model orchestration, or retrieval-augmented generation architectures is desirable.
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages for integration scripts, API connectors, and edge computing functions is desirable.
