Responsibilities

  • Onboard and integrate log sources into the SIEM, including collection, parsing, normalization, and production validation.
  • Design and operate scalable security data pipelines for collecting, transforming, enriching, buffering, and routing telemetry.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure across Azure tenants and subscriptions using Terraform.
  • Build and maintain version-controlled CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure, pipeline configurations, and data onboarding.
  • Develop Python or Go automation for log onboarding, health checks, data validation, alerting integrations, and operational runbooks.
  • Implement monitoring, observability, and SLOs for ingestion failures, latency, volume anomalies, schema drift, and data quality.
  • Support Detection Engineers by ensuring telemetry meets required schemas and freshness guarantees.
  • Document architecture and operational processes, communicate technical security concepts, and participate in the on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in cybersecurity, SRE, data engineering, or a related field, including at least 2 years focused on security data pipelines or SIEM platform engineering.
  • Hands-on Terraform experience managing cloud resources, reusable modules, state, drift, and brownfield environments across Azure tenants and subscriptions.
  • Experience onboarding log sources into SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or Elastic.
  • Experience designing and operating security data pipelines involving ingestion, buffering, transformation, routing, and storage.
  • Proficiency with stream-processing or data-engineering tools such as Cribl, Logstash, Azure Data Explorer, or custom ETL.
  • Experience with GitHub pull-request workflows, CI/CD, automated testing, and infrastructure or pipeline deployment.
  • Software development ability in Python or Go for maintainable, testable automation and integrations.
  • Experience implementing observability and reliability checks for data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Azure logging and monitoring services such as Azure Monitor, Event Hubs, and Log Analytics workspaces.
  • Understanding of network, endpoint, identity, cloud-audit, and application security log types.
  • Preferred qualifications include multi-tenant Azure administration, SRE or platform engineering experience, KQL or SPL log analysis, MITRE ATT&CK familiarity, and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
