Responsibilities
- Design and implement data storage and search solutions based on customer requirements.
- Maintain and enhance Python-, Go-, and Java-based backend systems.
- Deploy, configure, and support open-source components and platform services.
- Own features and services from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities and collaborate with senior engineers on solutions.
- Gather requirements, clarify ambiguities, and deliver practical solutions with teammates and stakeholders.
- Improve the operation, monitoring, and scaling of distributed systems.
- Contribute to software quality through automated testing, code reviews, observability, and troubleshooting practices.
- Share knowledge through documentation, technical discussions, design reviews, and incident investigations.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience working on backend systems or distributed applications.
- Experience with Python, Go, Java, or other object-oriented programming languages.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, service-oriented architectures, SQL queries, and relational databases.
- Exposure to Elasticsearch DSL or similar query languages and search technologies.
- Experience with containerized environments such as Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, Amazon ECS, or Docker.
- Experience with columnar or time-series databases such as Databricks, Elasticsearch, or ClickHouse.
- Exposure to Amazon Web Services and cloud-native technologies.
- Understanding of automated testing, code reviews, observability, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and share knowledge through documentation.
- Preferred experience with query planning, partition pruning, indexing strategies, and performance troubleshooting.
- Preferred experience with Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, Databricks, Trino, Spark, Amazon SQS, Kafka, or similar technologies.
