
Senior Software Engineer II - Audit & Logging

Responsibilities
- Define the multi-year architecture and technical strategy for audit logging, SIEM integration, and security visibility.
- Design hyperscale event pipelines and data models supporting billions of events per day, guaranteed delivery, ordering, and multi-region resilience.
- Architect integrations across IAM, threat detection, platform engineering, and security visibility systems.
- Define logging schema standards, event taxonomies, and sustaining engineering practices across the domain.
- Set architecture for the Unified Security Dashboard and integrations with Splunk, Datadog, Chronicle, and Sentinel.
- Lead cross-organizational design decisions and resolve architectural conflicts.
- Mentor senior engineers on system design, security engineering, and technical communication.
- Communicate platform strategy and investment rationale to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with depth in audit logging, security telemetry, SIEM integration, or high-throughput data pipelines.
- Expert-level Go skills and strong judgment in gRPC-based service design.
- Proven experience designing and operating high-throughput Kafka and Flink streaming systems at scale.
- Experience building security visibility platforms, dashboards, control planes, or SIEM integrations across cloud environments.
- Understanding of audit requirements for SOC 2, ISO 27001, and similar frameworks.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems and hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, Terraform, SQL, and analytical or columnar data stores.
- Ability to drive technical consensus across organizational boundaries and communicate platform strategy to leadership.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry, OCSF, or other security telemetry standards is preferred.
- Familiarity with threat detection platforms or UEBA systems is preferred.
- Experience with SOC 2, FedRAMP, or PCI-DSS as they relate to audit and access controls is preferred.
- Contributions to open-source security, observability, or data pipeline projects are preferred.
