Responsibilities
- Build and operate high-throughput audit-event pipelines in Go.
- Integrate audit logs with Splunk, Datadog, Chronicle, and Microsoft Sentinel.
- Improve audit-log tamper protection, retention rules, real-time access, and data models.
- Develop security-visibility dashboard features using signals from IAM, network security, and threat detection systems.
- Lead efforts to resolve logging and event-standard technical debt.
- Handle production incidents and write postmortems.
- Partner with IAM, Threat Detection, and Platform teams to improve log quality.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and design feedback.
- Apply audit and compliance knowledge, including SOC 2 and ISO 27001, to system design.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of software engineering experience, including some logging, security telemetry, or data-pipeline experience.
- Strong Go proficiency and experience building services with gRPC.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, Flink, or similar streaming tools, including avoiding data loss and duplication.
- Experience with dashboards, control planes, or SIEM integrations.
- Understanding of SOC 2 or ISO 27001 audit needs and distributed-systems concepts such as consistency and failure handling.
- Comfort with Kubernetes, Terraform, SQL, and analytics databases.
- Ability to explain technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Python or JavaScript/Node.js experience is a bonus.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry or OCSF is preferred.
- Familiarity with threat-detection or behavioral-analytics tools is preferred.
- Open-source contributions to security or observability projects are preferred.
