Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and QA to deliver critical engineering initiatives.
- Lead the design and implementation of Java platform features and services from conception through deployment.
- Contribute to technical designs, proposals, architectural decisions, and engineering best practices.
- Mentor and coach engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
- Build maintainable software with comprehensive test coverage and improve testing and CI/CD strategies.
- Create technical documentation and promote knowledge sharing.
- Use AI coding assistants while maintaining rigorous security and code quality standards.
Requirements
- 4+ years of software development experience designing and building scalable, high-performance server-side features.
- Deep expertise with Java, Spring, and high-performance Postgres or MySQL environments, including schema design and query optimization.
- Extensive experience designing, building, and securing APIs for large-scale systems.
- Expertise in caching, asynchronous processing, and multithreading.
- Understanding of design patterns, scalability patterns, security engineering, and object-oriented principles.
- Experience with automated testing and CI/CD in fast-paced development environments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical direction.
- Proficiency with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: knowledge of FIDO, U2F, WebAuthn, SSO, SAML, OAuth, federation, cybersecurity, secure coding practices, CISSP or Security+ certifications, ReactJS, gRPC, and microservice architecture.

- Annual base salary range of $136,000–$187,000 CAD for candidates located in Canada.
