Responsibilities
- Design scalable event-driven backend services using Kafka and Core Java for high-volume transaction processing.
- Develop Spring Boot microservices supporting reusable payment and card-processing capabilities.
- Implement Kafka producers and consumers with appropriate delivery semantics for critical financial events.
- Profile and optimize Java code, threads, memory usage, and response times.
- Create modular, testable service components and develop automated unit and integration tests.
- Integrate upstream and downstream systems through secure APIs and messaging while maintaining data consistency and observability.
- Apply secure coding practices and compliance guidelines to protect customer and transaction data.
- Translate cards and payments requirements into technical solutions with product owners and business partners.
- Troubleshoot production incidents using logs, metrics, and traces, and implement durable fixes.
- Participate in code reviews, document technical designs and operational runbooks, and mentor peers on Kafka, Spring Boot, and resilient design practices.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience developing and building high-performing, scalable enterprise applications.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Core Java, including collections, concurrency, and functional constructs.
- Advanced proficiency in Spring Boot, including dependency injection, data access, configuration management, and production-ready features.
- Practical experience designing and operating Kafka solutions involving topics, partitions, consumer groups, and message serialization.
- Experience developing secure and scalable APIs for internal systems or partner platforms in a financial services context.
- Familiarity with cards and payments concepts such as authorization, clearing, settlement, and dispute handling is desirable.
- Understanding of version control, continuous integration, code review, and automated testing practices.
- Ability to work effectively in hybrid environments with distributed teams.
