Responsibilities
- Own the enterprise technical vision for platform security engineering across shared services, internal platforms, and engineering workflows.
- Define secure target states, enterprise-scale design patterns, engineering standards, and control strategies across multiple products and technology pillars.
- Lead complex platform security decisions and establish reusable frameworks, reference implementations, technical guardrails, and scalable automation.
- Partner with engineering, infrastructure, product, and security leaders to align roadmaps, investments, and enterprise technical direction.
- Lead technical response strategy for significant platform security issues and mentor senior engineers as a recognized technical authority.
Requirements
- Typically 15 or more years of experience, or a demonstrated portfolio consistent with the role’s requirements.
- Expert-level experience across platform, infrastructure, software, and security engineering, including architectural and implementation leadership.
- Significant experience owning technical direction, defining standards or architectures adopted at scale, and solving complex systemic engineering problems.
- Ability to influence senior technical and business stakeholders and provide strategic recommendations on risk, tradeoffs, sequencing, and implementation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience as a principal engineer, architect, or enterprise technical leader; with platform or cloud strategy, modernization, shared services, internal developer platforms, regulated institutions, threat modeling, or architectural risk analysis.

- Base pay is listed by location at $184,000-$253,000 per year in Phoenix or Chicago and $221,000-$304,000 per year in San Francisco, plus a discretionary incentive plan.
