Base Salary
$186k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical roadmap to modernize the ZIA control plane with API-first microservices, clear service ownership, and multi-region architectures.
- Design, develop, and operate low-latency event-driven services end to end, including storage, resilience, progressive delivery, and rollback strategies.
- Drive engineering standards, code reviews, testing, API and event contract governance, and cross-functional technical collaboration.
- Own service reliability and operability through SLI/SLO definition, alerting, error budgets, incident response, postmortems, and observability.
- Implement microservices security, supply-chain integrity, performance optimization, capacity planning, autoscaling, and cloud cost optimization across AWS.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software development experience, including 4+ years building and operating production microservices at significant scale.
- Proficiency in Go and deep experience with distributed systems, messaging, CQRS, and event sourcing where appropriate.
- Experience operating Kubernetes in AWS at scale, preferably with EKS, along with strong Docker, infrastructure-as-code, and GitOps skills.
- Strong SQL and NoSQL database design and scaling experience, including multi-region data trade-offs, performance engineering, and AWS cost optimization.
- Comprehensive reliability and security experience with SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, service meshes, mTLS, OAuth2/OIDC, incident management, and secrets management.
- Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions within a functional domain.
- Preferred qualifications include chaos engineering, load and performance testing, fault injection, disaster recovery drills, multi-region design, migration leadership, event schema governance, OSS contributions, technical talks, patents, or published design writing.
