Base Salary
$225k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using TypeScript, Java/Kotlin, and Ruby on Rails.
- Architect and evolve APIs consumed by web and mobile clients.
- Design and optimize relational data models and improve system performance.
- Own features end-to-end, from technical design through deployment and iteration.
- Build and contribute to frontend experiences using React where needed.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and maintain high engineering velocity.
- Participate in system design and code reviews to elevate engineering standards.
- Proactively identify and address technical debt.
Requirements
- A BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of experience building production software with significant backend depth.
- Strong experience building and consuming APIs (RESTful and/or GraphQL).
- Production experience with TypeScript, Java/Kotlin, and/or Ruby on Rails.
- Experience designing relational schemas and working with Postgres.
- Strong understanding of data modeling and query optimization.
- Working proficiency in frontend technologies, including React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub and CI/CD workflows.
- A product mindset focused on creating real user impact.
- Comfort working in ambiguous problem spaces and taking ownership to drive outcomes.
