Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing backend solutions on Shopify.
- Develop and maintain integrations between Shopify and external systems and services.
- Work with Shopify GraphQL and REST APIs, third-party APIs, webhooks, and event-driven integrations.
- Analyze requirements, refine stories, design technical solutions, and develop against user stories and technical requirements.
- Create technical designs, documentation, prototypes, and other maintainable technical deliverables.
- Troubleshoot and debug backend issues across Shopify applications, integrations, APIs, and production environments.
- Identify and address architecture, performance, code quality, integration, and development-process issues.
- Collaborate with project owners, solution architects, QA teams, technical leads, and architects to deliver client solutions within timelines and budgets.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend or full-stack development experience.
- Strong Shopify backend development experience, including hands-on Shopify Plus experience.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Liquid, and Node.js.
- Experience with Shopify Functions, Checkout Extensibility, Admin API, Storefront API, GraphQL, RESTful APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations.
- Knowledge of Shopify products, collections, orders, customers, metafields, and metaobjects.
- Knowledge of Git, npm, Webpack, and Gulp.
- Experience with responsive web development and HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Understanding of Core Web Vitals, web performance best practices, and technical SEO principles.
- Experience working in Scrum environments and advanced English proficiency.
- Preferred experience with Next.js, Remix.js, other e-commerce platforms, Mocha, Jasmine, Jest, Server-Side Rendering, Headless CMS solutions, React, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-based development environments, and e-commerce consulting or client-facing projects.
