Responsibilities
- Architect and develop secure, scalable Atlassian Cloud applications with Atlassian Forge, serverless functions, UI Kit, Custom UI, and Forge storage APIs.
- Provide technical leadership on Atlassian Cloud architecture, security, performance, compliance, and data residency decisions.
- Build AI, GenAI, and Atlassian Rovo Agent solutions that automate workflows and connect systems.
- Mentor and coach engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- Optimize application performance and reliability, implement observability and monitoring, and troubleshoot production issues.
- Develop integrations using Atlassian REST and GraphQL APIs and third-party APIs.
- Own the application lifecycle from ideation and prototyping through deployment, maintenance, and Atlassian Marketplace distribution.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver maintainable technical solutions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience, including significant Atlassian platform work.
- Proven experience designing and building complex applications with Atlassian Forge.
- Strong knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Atlassian REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Expertise in Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, cloud-native and serverless architectures, and event-driven systems.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production support for cloud applications.
- Ability to design scalable, maintainable, and secure software systems and communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated daily use of AI-powered developer tools for activities such as coding, debugging, testing, documentation, or architectural reasoning.
- Experience with Marketplace applications such as ScriptRunner, Structure, or similar extensible platforms is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with AI/GenAI systems, prompt engineering, agent-based architectures, or Atlassian Rovo Agents is preferred.
- Experience operating enterprise-scale applications under strict performance, security, and compliance requirements is preferred.
- Prior experience mentoring senior and mid-level engineers or leading cross-team technical initiatives is preferred.
