Base Salary
$143k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead design discussions, facilitate design meetings, create design documents, and align architecture with project goals.
- Design scalable system architectures that meet security and compliance requirements.
- Develop and maintain developer tools supporting code creation, testing, and deployment.
- Lead implementation and deployment of high-quality, maintainable solutions.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
- Translate project vision into milestones and guide estimation and planning.
- Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual by monitoring systems, responding to incidents, and restoring services.
- Analyze incident patterns and implement broad fixes to reduce incident volume.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand user requirements and continuously incorporate feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to pass Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant industry experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience designing and shipping AI-powered products or platforms involving large language models, agentic systems, retrieval, or related technologies.
- Strong software engineering judgment and ability to turn emerging AI capabilities into reliable, maintainable, scalable product experiences.
- Experience architecting and operating large-scale cloud or distributed systems with focus on reliability, performance, security, observability, and operational excellence.
- Ability to shape technical strategy, influence architecture across organizational boundaries, mentor engineers, and deliver customer outcomes in ambiguous environments.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $142,800–$274,800 per year, with a separate range for specified San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan locations.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The position is open for a minimum of five days and accepts applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
- The role requires passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
