Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalability, reliability, and observability strategies for cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to improve system reliability.
  • Drive observability, performance engineering, quality, compliance, and reliability standards.
  • Maintain high availability and performance through proactive monitoring and incident response.
  • Lead automation and toil-reduction initiatives and identify manual processes for improvement.
  • Review complex large-scale technology solutions and advise leadership on strategic and tactical objectives.
  • Collaborate with technical experts, technology teams, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Lead projects or teams and serve as a peer mentor.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 5+ years of experience leading observability and monitoring tooling, including Splunk, AppDynamics, Splunk Observability, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Windows and Linux infrastructure.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated success in toil-reduction initiatives.
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud application management, especially OpenShift Container Platform.
  • Desired experience includes 5+ years in SRE, public and private cloud technologies, Java performance tuning, and capacity optimization for mission-critical applications.
  • Working knowledge of multiple programming languages and hands-on experience with cloud and platform technologies such as AWS, PCF, PKS, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Azure, Windows, and VMware.
  • Advanced scripting experience and strong Kubernetes, OpenShift, troubleshooting, Java performance, and monitoring knowledge.
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-influence skills.
