Responsibilities
- Advise leadership and influence application, network, information security, database, operating system, and web technology strategies for complex enterprise needs.
- Lead long-term, large-scale solutions to complex technical challenges across multiple groups and the enterprise.
- Design and implement observability, instrumentation, monitoring, proactive alerting, and incident-response practices.
- Drive adoption of automation and Site Reliability Engineering practices across Auto Finance Technology.
- Maintain resilient data pipelines and stable, scalable distributed systems across the platform lifecycle.
- Provide technical vision and expertise for significant business solutions and recommend innovations that improve operations.
- Maintain visibility into risks, controls, platform health, and compliance requirements.
- Partner with engineering, product, data, platform, and vendor teams on platform stability and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 7+ years of engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- 5+ years designing and implementing observability solutions.
- 3+ years of experience with cloud and container platforms.
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and strong SQL skills is desired.
- Familiarity with Java-based applications and JVM performance monitoring, including heap and thread analysis, is desired.
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance frameworks is desired.
- Experience troubleshooting operating-system and infrastructure-related issues is desired.
- Experience supporting commercial off-the-shelf and custom-built applications is desired.
- Strong analytical and continuous-improvement focus is desired.
- Experience working in Agile or Kanban environments is desired.
