Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, configure, and debug AI agents and integrations in complex live enterprise tenant environments.
- Lead technical discovery with customer executives and translate ambiguous business requirements into product configurations, proofs of concept, and integration specifications.
- Convert field telemetry, edge-case failures, and recurring customer friction into product roadmap and engineering backlog insights.
- Lead productization of customer-specific fixes into standardized, automated, out-of-the-box capabilities.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, Workday Services leads, AI Deployment Architects, Account Teams, and customer executives.
- Own complex customer engagements end-to-end through standard six-month deployment cycles.
- Mentor other Forward Deployed Engineers and help establish the technical direction of the FDE practice.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting, or Software Development, including leadership of complex enterprise technical engagements.
- Applied experience with LLM-powered or agentic AI systems, including areas such as prompt/context engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, evaluations, or agent orchestration frameworks.
- Hands-on coding and debugging skills with Python, Java, or similar technologies.
- Deep knowledge of REST APIs, object-oriented design, system architecture, and integration patterns.
- Working knowledge of Workday business processes, security and permissions, tenant configuration, integrations, and customer governance.
- Experience partnering directly with enterprise executives on complex software deployments, live data troubleshooting, and custom workflow integration.
- Ability to derive generalizable product requirements from customer issues and influence product direction through field insights.
- Exceptional written and verbal technical communication skills, including communication with non-technical leadership.
- Collaborative leadership skills and experience mentoring engineers across multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
Benefits
- EU primary location base salary range is €104,000–€156,000 EUR for Ireland, with potential eligibility for a bonus plan or role-specific commission/bonus and annual refresh stock grants.
- Flexible work model requiring at least 50% of each quarter in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, or partners.
- Customer engagements operate within standard six-month deployment cycles.
