Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evolve enterprise AI Gateway solutions using Kong AI Gateway and Kong Enterprise.
- Create onboarding and integration patterns for applications, AI agents, business services, LLM providers, RAG services, MCP services, and A2A communications.
- Implement model routing, failover, traffic shaping, provider abstraction, custom Kong plugins, and hybrid or multi-cloud control-plane and data-plane architectures.
- Architect IAM controls using OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, mTLS, RBAC, ABAC, workload identities, and agent identities.
- Implement AI security guardrails for prompt injection, DLP, PII detection and redaction, content safety, prompt and response filtering, and model access governance.
- Design highly available architectures with multi-region deployment, provider failover, disaster recovery, business continuity, rate limiting, circuit breakers, and capacity management.
- Define and manage SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, RTOs, and RPOs while conducting resilience testing and failure exercises.
- Integrate AI Gateway services with Azure, AWS, Snowflake, vector databases, data protection platforms, and enterprise observability tooling.
- Build monitoring, metrics, tracing, audit logging, operational dashboards, and support for incident response and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with security, compliance, legal, data protection, risk, and AI governance teams on enterprise controls and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience is required, including 8+ years designing and operating enterprise API, application, or cloud platforms.
- At least 5 years of cloud architecture and security experience and 3+ years working with AI/ML platform technologies or enterprise AI deployments are required.
- Hands-on experience implementing and managing Kong Gateway and Kong Enterprise solutions is required.
- Experience with IAM, cloud architecture, AI security, resiliency engineering, enterprise governance, and hybrid or multi-cloud platforms is required.
- Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, banking, insurance, or capital markets is strongly preferred.
- Preferred certifications include Kong Certified Professional, AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent security certification.
- Experience with AI security controls, governance frameworks, NIST AI RMF, NIST 800-53, NYDFS 500, PCI DSS, SOC 2, DSPM, DLP, and enterprise data protection controls is preferred.
