Senior Backend Engineer (Data Platform)

Responsibilities
- Design and build production-grade backend services and pipelines for reliable data movement.
- Create data exchange interfaces for external customers, ensuring security and reliability.
- Make architectural decisions balancing cost, reliability, and throughput.
- Build resilient infrastructure with smart retries and failure recovery mechanisms.
- Participate in end-to-end observability practices including logging and alerting.
- Collaborate with teams to integrate new data sources and meet evolving platform needs.
- Set technical direction and improve code quality and system design.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in building and operating production backend or data platform systems.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, including event-driven architectures.
- Experience with AWS services such as SQS, SNS, Kafka, and Lambda.
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
- Experience in designing systems with robust error handling and reliable delivery.
- Ability to work with multiple programming languages, particularly Python and TypeScript.
- Experience mentoring mid/junior engineers and enhancing team technical standards.
