Responsibilities
- Design and architect scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot for provider-domain workflows.
- Develop, refactor, and optimize secure backend services, data models, database queries, and service interactions.
- Translate provider-domain requirements into technical designs for claims, eligibility, and provider lifecycle processes.
- Lead internal and external system integrations with APIs, data exchange, error handling, and security policies.
- Define unit, integration, and contract testing strategies with quality engineering teams.
- Investigate production issues using logs, metrics, and distributed tracing and implement sustainable fixes.
- Promote automated builds, containerization, and continuous delivery practices.
- Mentor engineers on microservices architecture, Java design patterns, Spring Boot configuration, and clean coding.
- Document technical designs, service interfaces, and deployment procedures.
- Collaborate with product, operations, compliance, support, and other stakeholders on regulatory and user-experience goals.
Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing enterprise microservices with Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and backend engineering principles.
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, messaging systems, and enterprise integrations.
- Proficiency with build tools, testing frameworks, version control, and automated delivery pipelines.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues using monitoring, log analysis, tracing, and performance tuning.
- Strong communication, technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with healthcare provider operations such as onboarding, credentialing, directory management, claims, eligibility, and provider lifecycle processes.
- Preferred experience developing and operating solutions in hybrid-cloud environments and introducing practices that reduce incidents and accelerate delivery.
