Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-quality Android applications for banking customers.
- Own features from concept through delivery, ensuring scalable, maintainable, and customer-aligned solutions.
- Contribute to mobile architecture, technical decisions, platform growth, reliability, performance, security, monitoring, and deployment automation.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- Use feature flags, experimentation, and customer feedback to release and improve mobile experiences.
- Contribute to shared tools, frameworks, and engineering practices for mobile development teams.
- Use GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Teams to collaborate and deliver.
Requirements
- Production experience building, shipping, and maintaining Android applications using Kotlin and/or Java.
- Strong knowledge of modern Android development practices, including MVVM architecture.
- Experience creating scalable, maintainable, and testable software solutions with dependency injection and modular application design.
- Experience working with RESTful APIs and backend engineering teams.
- Understanding of secure authentication and authorization practices, including OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
- Commitment to software quality through testing, automation, performance optimization, and security best practices.
- Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience guiding technical decisions, influencing engineering practices, or mentoring developers.
- Preferred qualifications include Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Flow or RxJava, mobile accessibility, regulated-industry applications, biometrics, passkeys, multi-factor authentication, JUnit, Espresso, Appium, New Relic, SonarQube, Snyk, and GitHub Copilot.
