Responsibilities
- Design and develop responsive, accessible, maintainable React applications using TypeScript and component-based patterns.
- Define frontend architecture, reusable component libraries, routing, state management, form validation, and error-handling standards.
- Build workflow interfaces for document ingestion, metadata capture, review, approvals, access requests, search, and administration.
- Optimize rendering, bundle size, network usage, and client-side performance.
- Integrate applications with secure REST or GraphQL APIs, identity services, document repositories, notification services, and audit capabilities.
- Implement role- and attribute-aware experiences aligned with Attribute-Based Access Control, least privilege, and Zero Trust.
- Support DISA PKI, mutual TLS, authentication, authorization failures, secure sessions, and sanitized error states.
- Develop unit, component, integration, accessibility, and end-to-end tests and maintain automated CI/CD quality gates.
- Participate in peer reviews, architecture discussions, threat modeling, vulnerability remediation, and release-readiness activities.
- Troubleshoot browser, authentication, API, performance, and environment-specific defects across delivery environments.
- Create technical designs, interface specifications, runbooks, engineering standards, and RMF support documentation.
- Mentor less-experienced engineers, establish development conventions, review code, and communicate technical risks and recommendations.
- Contribute to Agile planning, demonstrations, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Typically five or more years of professional software-engineering experience, including substantial hands-on React development.
- Advanced proficiency with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, semantic HTML, modern CSS, and responsive web design.
- Experience with reusable components, custom hooks, frontend architecture, and scalable state management such as Redux Toolkit, React Query, or Zustand.
- Experience integrating secure APIs and building asynchronous data, authentication, authorization, file transfer, search, and workflow-driven applications.
- Strong automated-testing experience with tools such as Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Proficiency with Git-based development, pull-request workflows, package management, CI/CD pipelines, and modern frontend build tooling.
- Understanding of web security, OWASP risks, accessibility standards, browser behavior, and application performance optimization.
- Ability to communicate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders and independently resolve complex engineering problems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the security clearance and customer access required for the role.
- Preferred experience with Next.js, Azure Government, AWS GovCloud, or DoD Impact Level 4, 5, or 6 environments.
- Preferred knowledge of CUI handling, NIST SP 800-53, RMF, DISA guidance, FIPS-validated cryptography, Zero Trust, or Authority to Operate processes.
- Preferred experience with PKI, client-certificate authentication, mutual TLS, enterprise identity platforms, or claims-based authorization.
- Preferred experience integrating SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Azure services, search platforms, document-management systems, or workflow engines.
- Preferred experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, feature flags, observability, and frontend telemetry.
- Preferred experience with Section 508, WCAG, federal defense or intelligence customers, and active U.S. Government Secret clearance or higher.
- Security+ or relevant Microsoft Azure certification is preferred.
