Base Salary
$248k - $311k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture, design, implementation, and reliability of foundational data storage, streaming, caching, indexing, and warehousing platforms.
- Work with stakeholders, internal customers, and cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver features.
- Identify and implement improvements to programming practices, processes, and engineering tools.
- Present technical information and provide guidance on development processes and technologies.
- Uphold and improve engineering standards, provide technical leadership, and mentor junior engineers.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and communication at an organizational level.
Requirements
- 8+ years of full-time engineering experience after graduation, specializing in backend systems and large-scale data storage, streaming, and warehousing.
- Extensive experience with MongoDB, Postgres, Kinesis, Flink, Spark, ElasticSearch, Redis, Trino, Presto, Snowflake, Kubernetes, and public cloud platforms.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and leading successful projects.
- Deep understanding of software development, distributed systems, cloud platforms, and data systems.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience includes CircleCI, performance tuning, cloud data platform cost optimization, data lifecycle strategy, GDPR privacy tooling, and scaling products at hyper-growth startups.
