Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze flight software requirements for a 5G cellular network on the lunar surface.
- Coordinate and review flight software requirements, architecture, design, and other documentation.
- Identify software risks and vulnerabilities and develop mitigation plans.
- Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents, Interface Requirements Documents, and a Requirements Traceability Matrix.
- Facilitate milestone reviews, coordinate Review Item Disposition closure, and track flight software bugs and defects.
- Support trade studies, analyses, assessments, flight software integration, and test and verification activities.
- Provide guidance and oversight for adherence to NASA Spacecraft Software Engineering Team standards and Class A safety-critical flight software processes.
- Interface with NASA and prime contractor engineering teams and participate in NASA software boards.
- Develop software tools and scripts as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- At least five years of related software systems engineering experience involving real-time safety-critical software.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Strong technical, verbal, written communication, coordination, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Preferred: master’s degree in a related engineering or computer science discipline.
- Preferred: experience with the full life cycle of safety-critical human-rated software and flight software for human-rated space vehicles.
- Preferred: familiarity with 5G cellular technology, spacecraft communications, NASA SSET standards, CMMI Level 3 or higher, and vehicle-wide space systems.
- Preferred: experience with object-oriented C++, Python, hardware/software integration, NASA core Flight System, flight software verification, and software configuration management tools.
