Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable web automation frameworks for API and UI/functional testing.
  • Develop test strategies, plans, and automation suites using Playwright with Python or TypeScript.
  • Create reusable page objects and components and write maintainable tests with robust assertions and reporting.
  • Implement API testing for REST and GraphQL and integrate API tests with UI tests where appropriate.
  • Integrate automated tests with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, and other CI/CD pipelines.
  • Configure test data, environments, provisioning, parallel execution, retries, test isolation, and flaky-test handling.
  • Monitor test results, analyze failures, and provide root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to meet quality goals.
  • Document framework usage and coding standards and create onboarding guides.
  • Evaluate automation tooling trends and propose testing-infrastructure improvements.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in web automation testing.
  • Strong proficiency with Playwright and Python or TypeScript for end-to-end web testing.
  • Demonstrated experience building automation frameworks from the ground up.
  • Proficiency in Python or TypeScript and knowledge of software design patterns.
  • Experience with REST or GraphQL API testing and integration with UI tests.
  • Familiarity with pytest or unittest.
  • Understanding of CI/CD integration and test reporting.
  • Experience with Git and collaborative workflows.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred: Xray Test Management for Jira, BDD tooling such as Gherkin, Cucumber, or Behave, performance-testing fundamentals, Docker, containerized test environments, cloud-based test environments, device or browser farms, test data management, and data-driven testing.
