Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable web automation frameworks for API and UI/functional testing.
- Develop Playwright automation suites in Python or TypeScript for web applications.
- Create reusable page objects and components with maintainable assertions and reporting.
- Implement API testing strategies and integrate API tests with UI tests where appropriate.
- Integrate automated tests with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, and other CI pipelines.
- Configure test data management, environment handling, test provisioning, parallel execution, retries, test isolation, and flaky-test handling.
- Monitor test results, analyze failures, and provide root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to meet quality goals.
- Document framework usage and coding standards and create onboarding guides.
- Evaluate automation tooling trends and propose testing-infrastructure improvements.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in web automation testing.
- Strong proficiency with Playwright and Python or TypeScript for end-to-end web testing.
- Demonstrated experience building automation frameworks from the ground up.
- Proficiency in Python or TypeScript and knowledge of software design patterns.
- Experience with API testing using REST or GraphQL and integrating API tests with UI tests.
- Familiarity with pytest and unittest.
- Understanding of CI/CD integration and test reporting.
- Experience with Git and collaborative workflows.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: Xray Test Management for Jira, BDD tooling such as Gherkin, Cucumber, or Behave, performance testing fundamentals, Docker, containerized test environments, cloud-based test environments, device/browser farms, test data management, data-driven testing, and Agile/Scrum processes.
