Responsibilities
- Design secure, scalable, supportable cloud solutions and deployment models that reduce operational toil.
- Participate in technical planning, engineer mentoring, skill development reviews, and goal setting.
- Review and approve internal and partner technical plans, briefs, and work plans.
- Support always-on gaming server infrastructure and participate in on-call support for launches, live events, and emergencies.
- Resolve complex deployment, connectivity, performance, and availability issues in production and live-services environments.
- Develop productivity-enhancing automation tools and evaluate technologies to improve team efficiency and platform capabilities.
- Maintain comprehensive system configuration, procedure, and live-support runbook documentation.
Requirements
- Six or more years of relevant experience with public-cloud services, primarily Google Cloud Platform and Google Kubernetes Engine; AWS experience is also acceptable.
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and operating critical always-on cloud systems.
- Expertise with Kubernetes, GKE, Helm, and Docker for managing and scaling containerized workloads.
- Experience developing automation with Python, Ruby, or Go.
- Proficiency with Chef and Ansible configuration-management tools.
- Practical knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, Jenkins, GitLab, and GitHub.
- Expertise in cloud security, Linux server security, and cloud networking, including load balancers, DNS, subnetting, route tables, NAT, and firewalls.
- Working knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL database concepts, including managing and optimizing Database-as-a-Service offerings.
- Ability to troubleshoot at network and Linux operating-system levels and collaborate across teams.

- British Columbia compensation is listed at $122,300–$170,700 CAD per year.
