Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, fault-tolerant microservices and externally consumable APIs for rule-based and ML-based detection pipelines.
  • Model and implement supervision, alert triage, queue, escalation, disposition, reviewer, and audit workflows.
  • Build streaming and batch pipelines that ingest, index, enrich, and distribute communications content and alerts.
  • Design immutable, traceable data models for alerts, queues, policies, and audit artifacts.
  • Operationalize ML and LLM models in detection and alert-generation pipelines with Data Science and ML Engineering teams.
  • Build unit, integration, and performance tests and establish consistent validation and quality practices.
  • Lead enterprise adoption of AI-assisted engineering and SDLC/TLM automation across multiple teams, including governance, human-in-the-loop validation, and measurable outcome tracking.
  • Build CI/CD pipelines with automated quality gates and implement metrics, tracing, logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Partner with product management and compliance experts to improve alert accuracy, reliability, and false-positive rates.
  • Identify patterns in communications data to improve detection quality and drive product and process improvements.
  • Mentor engineers and provide senior-level technical leadership.

Requirements

  • 8+ years building resilient, scalable, cost-efficient, enterprise-grade cloud-native products.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial-industry compliance.
  • Expertise programming in Java, Kotlin, and Python, including building headless, externally consumable APIs.
  • Experience building cloud-native microservices and streaming and batch architectures using Spark and/or Flink.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Elastic/OpenSearch, Kafka, and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience integrating and operationalizing ML and LLM models and pipelines in production.
  • Experience with GitHub Copilot, Qodo (Codium), and multi-team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools.
  • Ability to define governance and ways of working for AI-assisted engineering, including human-in-the-loop validation, quality gates, secure handling of sensitive inputs and outputs, and outcome measurement.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, resiliency, security implications, and control expectations in engineering workflows.
  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ArgoCD, Helm, Terraform, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development, defined SLI/SLO/SLAs, and production ownership.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.
  • Preferred familiarity with modern front-end technologies, MLOps in the cloud, and Storm.
  • Preferred experience building cost models aligned to SLIs/SLOs and handling data privacy, PII, and encryption in regulated environments.
