Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy software for engine test automation and data acquisition.
- Maintain and support existing software solutions and tools as hardware and software upgrades occur.
- Diagnose software and hardware issues and support engine testing on call when systems fail in the field.
- Integrate instrumentation and hardware interfaces into software systems.
- Conduct code reviews, testing, and validation of software releases.
- Gather requirements and deliver software solutions in collaboration with test engineers and internal customers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware interaction issues in laboratory environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
- Software coding experience in two or more languages, such as Python, Java, or C++.
- At least 4 years of software development lifecycle experience, including validation and verification.
- Familiarity with basic Linux/Unix command-line tools.
- Master’s degree in computer science or engineering is valued.
- Experience testing software applications in open- and closed-loop environments is valued.
- Experience with data structures, SQL databases, Ethernet-based communication protocols, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC UA, object-oriented programming, ARINC 429, and MIL-STD-1553 is valued.
- Knowledge of software configuration management and SQA tools such as Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Subversion is valued.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with minimal direction in a cross-functional team are valued.
