Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and continual liaison to customers during development, testing, and implementation activities.
- Review customer technical test results and approve solutions for connection to Barclays Payments live systems.
- Design, develop, and improve scalable, maintainable, high-performance software solutions.
- Build and manage robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
- Integrate with third-party and vendor platforms and manage secure external connectivity.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and implementation managers to define solutions and coordinate workloads.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, technical communities, and continuous improvement activities.
- Apply secure coding practices and manage risks, controls, policies, and procedures.
- Mentor, coach, or support the development of junior engineers where applicable.
Requirements
- Software development experience using industry-standard programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Strong coding skills focused on scalable, maintainable, and high-performance applications.
- Experience in software design and solution development.
- Knowledge of HISO/APACS message layouts.
- Ability to review customer technical test results and assess solution compliance.
- Experience integrating third-party or vendor platforms and managing secure external connectivity is valued.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or developing junior engineers is valued.
- Exposure to enterprise-scale software delivery environments is valued.
- Knowledge of organisational processes, products, and business functions is valued.
- Any required training will be provided.
