Responsibilities
- Define and implement comprehensive software test strategies using appropriate testing tools and techniques.
- Collaborate with business systems analysts and developers to clarify requirements, acceptance criteria, system impacts, and testing scope.
- Create and maintain automated functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, exploratory, and manual tests.
- Identify test data requirements and create and maintain test data for test cases.
- Test web service, user interface, file, and database outputs across different system layers.
- Ensure non-functional test strategies cover performance and load requirements.
- Review team outputs, maintain quality standards, facilitate knowledge transfer, and promote improved testing practices.
- Demonstrate completed functionality to product owners or during team showcases and contribute to user-story estimates.
- Provide test-result updates, identify high-risk areas, anticipate issues, and drive resolution with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
- Five or more years of experience in a technical QA/testing role.
- Proven experience testing software development in a structured environment and managing the defect lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of test levels from unit testing through user acceptance testing and cohesive test-strategy development.
- Basic programming knowledge and experience with test frameworks and scripting automated functional tests.
- Good experience with API, microservices, functional, end-to-end, regression, and smoke testing.
- Understanding of application servers, databases, web services, and high-level system architecture.
- Experience working with user stories and defining clear acceptance criteria.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- AWS environment experience preferred; experience creating test cases using GitHub Copilot preferred.
- Accessibility and security testing experience is a value-add.
