Responsibilities
- Raise Python coding standards, including good practices, code structure, cleanliness, and testing.
- Design and implement high-quality, performant Python code within the ETL platform.
- Automate integrations with the Data Lake and Data Warehouse.
- Automate complex data-processing and machine-learning workflows, including recurring model evaluation.
- Improve code structure, performance, protocols, metrics, and production readiness across the team.
- Mentor junior and mid-level Python engineers and share technical knowledge across the organization.
- Lead projects, services, or products and help grow a team dedicated to the ETL platform.
- Contribute to relevant open-source projects when possible.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or another quantitative field.
- 4+ years of experience programming Python with production-ready code.
- Extremely strong programming skills, including experience with unittest and production/staging environments.
- Experience with standard databases, including RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with container development using Docker or Kubernetes.
- Experience leading projects, services, or products.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across management, business, and technical audiences.
- Fluent English.
- Preferred: experience with ETL, data preprocessing, or data analysis.
- Preferred: experience supervising junior and mid-level developers.
- Preferred: experience with big-data frameworks, OLAP databases, and stream-processing frameworks such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, Spark, or Flink.
