Responsibilities
- Design and deliver features across a suite of Spring Boot microservices using hexagonal architecture and CQRS patterns.
- Build and maintain services for model inventory, validation lifecycle, workflow orchestration, monitoring, and approvals.
- Implement and evolve BPMN/DMN workflows using Flowable.
- Own inter-service communication through OpenFeign clients and maintain resilient API contracts.
- Write database migrations and optimize PostgreSQL queries in a database-per-service architecture.
- Collaborate with business analysts, model validators, and risk stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements into software.
- Contribute to service extraction, legacy migration, and broader platform architecture improvements.
- Maintain code quality through automated testing, SonarQube, and peer review.
Requirements
- 12+ years of backend development experience in Java, preferably with Java 21 or later.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Spring Cloud, and microservice architecture.
- Hands-on PostgreSQL experience including schema design, query optimization, and migrations.
- Experience with RESTful API design, OpenAPI/Swagger, and inter-service communication patterns.
- Working experience with GCP and GKE, including Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, Kubernetes deployments, namespaces, health checks, and Helm charts.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and unit, integration, and end-to-end test suites.
- Experience with Flowable, Camunda, or comparable BPMN/DMN workflow engines.
- Familiarity with hexagonal architecture, Feign or declarative HTTP clients, Liquibase or Flyway, event-driven architecture, and Maven multi-module builds.
- Background in financial services, risk management, regulatory technology, model risk management, or legacy platform modernization is preferred.
