Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own core storage data-plane components for distributed systems.
- Develop high-performance, low-latency code in C++ or Go.
- Drive architectural decisions involving I/O paths, concurrency, memory management, and scalability.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through profiling, benchmarking, and tuning.
- Own production issues end-to-end, including root-cause analysis and long-term fixes.
- Collaborate with control-plane, SRE, infrastructure, and hardware engineering teams on system reliability.
- Review designs and code, provide technical mentorship, and contribute to technical roadmaps and best practices.
- Participate in on-call support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Professional software engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in Linux operating systems, distributed systems, and systems programming.
- Production-grade systems development experience in C++ or Go.
- Deep understanding of concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization.
- Strong debugging skills in complex, large-scale Linux and Kubernetes environments.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale block, file, or object storage systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of NVMe, SSDs, replication, sharding, and caching is preferred.
- Experience operating distributed systems at cloud scale and familiarity with storage failure modes, resiliency patterns, and observability are preferred.
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives is preferred.
