Responsibilities
- Develop architecture strategies, roadmaps, standards, governance practices, and architectural artifacts for assigned portfolios.
- Lead solution architecture for complex enterprise initiatives across cloud, on-premises, SaaS, and hybrid environments.
- Create technical solution designs aligned with enterprise architecture standards, security, compliance, governance, and risk requirements.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders and advise senior leaders on technology investments, modernization, and strategic decisions.
- Identify and mitigate technology risks, dependencies, and architectural challenges.
- Research emerging technologies, conduct proof-of-concepts, and evaluate innovative solutions.
- Lead and influence cross-functional teams through enterprise transformation initiatives.
- Design scalable, sustainable, and resilient solutions and drive integration across diverse technology ecosystems.
- Apply BMO’s Risk Management Framework, policies, standards, and regulatory obligations to architecture decisions.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive experience in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, or related technology leadership roles.
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience serving as a technical leader across multiple enterprise technology initiatives.
- Deep experience designing and implementing cloud, on-premises, SaaS, and hybrid technology solutions.
- Strong background in security architecture, infrastructure technologies, enterprise integration, and data lifecycle management.
- Experience developing technology roadmaps, architecture standards, and solution governance practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, risk management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience presenting recommendations to senior leadership and executive audiences.
- Preferred experience delivering AI-focused solutions and transformational initiatives.
- Preferred knowledge of AI Agents, Model Context Protocol, Agent-to-Agent architectures, emerging AI frameworks, enterprise automation, and intelligent service management platforms.
- Industry certifications in Cloud Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Security, or IT Service Management are preferred.
