Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, quality, and delivery of React Native mobile applications and React JS web surfaces across iOS and Android.
- Define coding standards, development patterns, technical roadmaps, and architecture spanning native UI, BFF layers, backend API contracts, and LLM integrations.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of mobile and web features from technical scoping through App Store and Google Play release and production monitoring.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines and release-management processes, and manage the webview bridge between native applications and D2C web experiences.
- Conduct code reviews, root-cause analysis, technical risk mitigation, and production-support improvements.
- Lead and mentor distributed employees and contractors across multiple geographies, participate in hiring, and establish clear accountability.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, Backend, and business teams to deliver software following Agile principles.
- Promote software quality through automated testing, alerting, accessibility, security, performance, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of software development experience, including at least 5 years focused on mobile React Native and full-stack development.
- Deep expertise in React Native, React JS, TypeScript or JavaScript, and Node.js.
- Strong understanding of native iOS development with Swift or Objective-C and Android development with Kotlin or Java, sufficient to work with native modules.
- Proven full-stack experience with BFF or API layers, REST APIs, GraphQL, and mobile-specific data-fetching patterns.
- Experience with state management technologies such as Redux, Zustand, or Recoil.
- Proven experience shipping production applications to the App Store and Google Play.
- Experience developing and architecting high-transaction, high-throughput systems.
- Experience leading distributed, contractor-heavy teams across time zones and mentoring engineers.
- Experience with AI-first engineering and tools such as Claude and Copilot.
- Experience with CI/CD, Agile methodologies, open-source technologies, and cross-browser and cross-platform development.
- Preferred experience includes LLM or AI-native development patterns, AI-powered consumer features, webview integration, leading teams of five or more engineers, Nx or Turborepo architectures, WCAG and platform accessibility APIs, Expo or Expo EAS, and fintech or regulated-industry experience.
