Base Salary

$150k - $162k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Advance platform reliability, resiliency, availability, and operational readiness across more than 300 mission-critical banking applications.
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, service recovery, recovery planning, and operational risk reduction for production systems.
  • Modernize platforms and implement automation, observability, monitoring, alert management, and operational process improvements.
  • Support and coordinate infrastructure, cloud-based applications, distributed systems, databases, messaging platforms, and system administration across Windows Server and Linux environments.
  • Implement and scale SRE practices, including SLOs, post-incident reviews, reliability metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with software engineering, infrastructure, security, architecture, vendors, and business teams on complex technology solutions.
  • Mentor engineers, establish operational standards, and promote accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation approximately once every 5 to 6 weeks for critical production systems.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience supporting and administering enterprise technology platforms in large-scale environments.
  • At least 6 years of experience with automation, scripting, monitoring solutions, alert management, and operational process improvement.
  • At least 6 years of experience working within SDLC practices and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with high-availability distributed systems, production operations, platform reliability, incident response, root cause analysis, and service recovery.
  • Experience administering, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning Windows Server 2019/2022 and Linux systems.
  • Experience deploying, configuring, supporting, or migrating cloud-based applications and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of IP networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and routing.
  • Development or scripting experience with one or more of PowerShell, Python, Java, .NET, or Bash.
  • Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, or similar database technologies.
  • Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, Solace, or similar messaging and event-driven technologies.
  • Experience with Splunk, AppDynamics, or equivalent observability and monitoring platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred: 8+ years supporting large-scale mission-critical platforms in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Preferred: experience with SRE practices, SLOs, post-incident reviews, observability, reliability metrics, production operations, availability engineering, operational risk management, infrastructure modernization, disaster recovery, vulnerability remediation, and security-focused operational programs.
  • Preferred: experience with Google Cloud Platform, Tanzu Application Service/Cloud Foundry (PCF), or similar cloud platforms, plus familiarity with Actimize and related financial crime or regulatory technology platforms.
  • Preferred: familiarity with audit, regulatory, PCI, security, and compliance requirements in banking or financial services.
