Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end design, implementation, operation, production support, and operational resilience for platform features and integrations across UNIX/Linux/Windows and public and private cloud environments.
  • Drive incident, problem, change, and capacity management activities, including prioritization, escalations, post-incident reviews, and continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot batch processing, filesystems, data stores, SFTP/SSH/LDAP services, and Autosys/Crontab scheduling while improving job flows and recovery procedures.
  • Deliver database data loads, reconciliations, reporting, alerting, data quality remediation, indexing, statistics, fragmentation management, and replication.
  • Build automation and observability using Perl and shell scripting, monitoring, provisioning, dashboards, metrics, alerting, and operational runbooks.
  • Develop and operate AI assistant skills, tool functions, MCP servers, integrations, reusable agent patterns, evaluation checks, guardrails, and validation standards.
  • Establish roadmaps, milestones, secure coding practices, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, production readiness, and delivery plans with stakeholders.
  • Manage ad hoc data loads, reconciliations, client reporting, and day-to-day data quality and processing issues.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring, delegate work, document operational knowledge, and promote responsible AI-assisted engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and strong working experience with Python.
  • Strong architecture, systems design, object-oriented design, design patterns, SOLID, testing, and TDD fundamentals.
  • Strong SQL/PL-SQL, integration, event messaging, production operations, observability, and reliability experience.
  • Experience leading approved AI-assisted software development practices and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI engineering, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, security, and compliant adoption practices.
  • Ability to create roadmaps and milestones, manage dependencies, and execute in agile/scrum environments.
  • Track record of mentoring engineers, leading reviews, raising engineering standards, and collaborating across distributed stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience with ServiceNow and its data model, MCP operations, AI agents, grounding/RAG, deterministic fallbacks, prompt/version management, evaluation harnesses, data privacy, secrets management, least privilege, auditability, and AWS or other public cloud platforms.
