Responsibilities
- Maintain the uptime and reliability of data transformation platforms.
- Deliver stakeholder-requested platform enhancements and features.
- Build scalable GitLab CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments.
- Identify and implement improvements to platform stability and security.
- Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and security teams.
- Document platform standards, features, and operational information.
- Mentor junior team members.
- Participate in the out-of-hours support call-out rota.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, Dataproc, Databricks, and data integration workflows.
- Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code in Google Cloud Platform.
- Understanding of Google Cloud networking, including VPCs, firewall rules, Cloud VPN, Private Service Connect, DNS, and load balancing.
- Experience building and managing pipelines with Cloud Build, Cloud Deploy, or equivalent DevOps tooling.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting using Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, or similar tools.
- Experience with Bash, Python, or PowerShell scripting.
- Understanding of cloud security practices, including IAM, service accounts, Secret Manager, and organization policies.
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
- Previous experience in data platform teams is highly preferred.
