Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture and technical vision for the AI governance platform across the full governance lifecycle.
- Design enterprise governance workflows including approval chains, delegation of authority, risk classification routing, policy enforcement, remediation, and audit.
- Architect integrations with risk book-of-record systems, AI infrastructure, evaluation platforms, evidence stores, telemetry, and internal tooling.
- Build intelligent agents and automation that generate risk assessment artifacts, control mappings, evidence packages, and compliance reports while preserving auditability.
- Implement bidirectional integrations with systems of record and browser automation for platforms without API access.
- Design and build the reviewer experience as a Next.js/React application with escalation screens, remediation tracking, dashboards, and policy configuration interfaces.
- Establish frontend component architecture, API integration, error handling, fallback strategies, testing strategies, and observability.
- Make and document architectural decisions, engineering practices, quality benchmarks, and standards that support future team growth.
- Collaborate with risk, compliance, and governance stakeholders to translate regulatory and operational requirements into technical solutions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience with demonstrated progression toward principal-level technical leadership.
- Deep understanding of enterprise governance, compliance, risk assessment, escalation, audit evidence, and organizational risk management processes.
- Proven experience building end-to-end platforms that integrate multiple enterprise systems and manage cross-system data flows and failures.
- Production experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript, including hands-on development of strong frontend systems.
- Experience with frontend testing, observability, component architecture, accessible UI development, event-driven architecture, API gateway patterns, and distributed systems.
- Experience designing complex decision-making, approval-routing, or case-management workflows in regulated environments.
- Experience replacing manual processes through intelligent agents, workflow engines, browser automation, or system integrations.
- Ability to collaborate with risk, compliance, and governance stakeholders and translate operational requirements into architecture.
- Demonstrated technical leadership through technical vision, architecture decisions, engineering practices, and cross-team influence.
- Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or government.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Preferred qualifications include governance, compliance, GRC, or risk-platform experience; AI/ML governance knowledge; familiarity with NIST AI RMF, OSFI, EU AI Act, CIRO, or Archer; agent-based automation experience; human factors and decision-support knowledge; and experience with Radix, shadcn/ui, Playwright, Jest, Dynatrace, D3.js, or Recharts.
- An advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred.
