Base Salary
$52 - $78/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and backend test suites using Java
- Write JUnit tests for RESTful APIs, service layers, and backend components
- Validate API schemas, request and response structures, and error-handling scenarios
- Create and execute functional, regression, and integration API automation
- Collaborate with developers on testability, observability, and quality in feature design
- Analyze logs, metrics, and service behavior to diagnose and troubleshoot failures
- Participate in refinement, planning, retrospectives, and daily Scrum meetings
- Improve CI/CD pipelines through automation and quality gates
- Build reusable test components and libraries to scale quality engineering across microservices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- At least 3 years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation, or software development
- Strong Java programming skills, including object-oriented programming, collections, generics, and lambdas
- Hands-on experience writing JUnit tests, preferably with JUnit 5
- Expertise testing REST-based APIs and validating OpenAPI/Swagger schemas
- Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks for backend or microservice architectures
- Familiarity with Git, branching strategies, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
- Strong debugging, analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on Scrum and cross-functional teams
- Preferred experience with test plans, detailed test scenarios, domain-driven test analysis, Spring Boot, IntelliJ IDEA, Splunk, gRPC testing, AWS, Python, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
