
Lead Software Engineer (Remote, United Kingdom)
TicketmasterResponsibilities
- Lead development and delivery across globally distributed software teams within the Abuse and Fraud Prevention portfolio.
- Design scalable, resilient systems and contribute to service-layer architecture and global application improvements.
- Implement complex features, write exemplary code, prototype solutions, and own the full development and deployment lifecycle.
- Gather requirements from technical, product, design, PMO, business, and other stakeholders and recommend technical approaches.
- Debug and triage production issues, including issues in applications outside the immediate team.
- Automate testing, deployments, performance optimization, and recovery processes.
- Lead, manage, inspire, and mentor engineers while encouraging collaboration and technical growth.
- Coordinate team efforts, report progress to stakeholders and management, and balance short-term needs with long-term product impact.
- Participate in occasional out-of-hours work or rota-based on-call support.
Requirements
- Demonstrable lead engineering and software development experience.
- Strong backend development skills and proven ability to design and implement clean, scalable, well-structured APIs.
- Experience with Java 17 or later or another JVM language, and modern frameworks such as Spring Boot.
- Experience with test-driven development, continuous integration practices, software architecture, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
- Experience with AWS or another cloud provider, CI/CD servers such as GitLab or Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes or another orchestration or scheduling framework.
- Experience working in a service-oriented architecture development environment and working knowledge of databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Strong communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, prioritization, debugging, research, and problem-solving abilities.
- Preferred experience includes DevOps, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Databricks, Spark, Terraform, Helm, distributed systems, and always-available service operations.
- Ability to learn quickly and work autonomously in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
