Base Salary
$99k - $174k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement state estimation and prediction architecture for autonomous spacecraft operations.
- Research estimation and prediction algorithms from literature review through training, tuning, optimization, and deployment.
- Implement, test, and benchmark classical and neural estimators for tracking multiple dynamic targets in real time.
- Build and evaluate neural models for forecasting target trajectories and behavioral patterns.
- Assist with intent inference models that identify actions and rank threat levels.
- Integrate estimation and prediction models into mission simulation environments and autonomy decision systems.
- Collaborate with perception and onboard autonomy teams to improve prediction fidelity, robustness, and scalability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Aerospace, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field, completed within the last 24 months or expected before the start date.
- Working proficiency in C++ and Python demonstrated through coursework, research, internships, or personal projects.
- Grounding in probabilistic state estimation, including Kalman filters, particle filters, or Bayesian inference.
- Practical exposure to PyTorch or TensorFlow and sequence modeling with seq2seq, RNNs, LSTMs, or Transformers.
- Familiarity with trajectory modeling, multi-body dynamics, or orbital mechanics.
- Ability to work through open-ended technical problems and communicate technical reasoning clearly.
- Preferred experience includes aerospace, robotics, estimation, research assistance, sensor fusion, trajectory forecasting, CUDA, TensorRT, Linux, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, real-time systems, multithreading, networking protocols, or autonomous systems projects.
- Must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
