Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Contribute to Lodestar’s perception system and autonomy software suite.
- Develop, train, evaluate, optimize, and deploy perception algorithms and models.
- Optimize existing models for edge computing and develop new perception components.
- Develop and test methods for predicting the relative pose of dynamic space targets.
- Integrate perception models into mission simulations and real-time autonomy pipelines.
- Design sensor models and digital twins to improve perception fidelity.
- Maintain perception tooling, model-training infrastructure, and evaluation frameworks.
- Collaborate with autonomy, estimation, and mission software teams on performance and scalability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in AI/ML, computer science, robotics, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 0–2 years of professional experience in machine learning, robotics, computer vision, or a related field; internships, research placements, and substantial academic or personal projects count.
- Strong Python software engineering skills and working proficiency in C++.
- Foundational deep neural network and machine learning knowledge with hands-on computer vision or image-processing library experience, such as OpenCV.
- Demonstrated ability to take an ML model from training through evaluation.
- Preferred experience with real-time or resource-constrained ML deployment, perception-system architecture, RADAR, electro-optical, RF, or LiDAR sensors, image processing, 3D reconstruction, target classification, CUDA, TensorRT, GPU acceleration, distributed or cloud-based training, Linux, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and networking protocols.
- Must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements, including being a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required authorizations.
