Base Salary
$99k - $174k/yr
Responsibilities
- Contribute to Lodestar’s perception system and autonomy software suite.
- Review literature, train, evaluate, optimize, and deploy perception algorithms with senior engineers.
- Optimize existing models for edge computing and develop new perception components.
- Develop and test methods for predicting the relative pose of dynamic space targets.
- Integrate perception models into mission simulations and real-time autonomy pipelines.
- Design sensor models and digital twins to improve perception fidelity.
- Maintain perception tooling, model-training infrastructure, and evaluation frameworks.
- Collaborate with autonomy, estimation, and mission software teams on perception performance and scalability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in AI/ML, computer science, robotics, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 0–2 years of professional experience in machine learning, robotics, computer vision, or a related field; internships, research placements, and substantial academic or personal projects count.
- Strong Python software engineering skills and working proficiency in C++.
- Foundational DNN/ML knowledge and hands-on experience with computer vision or image-processing libraries such as OpenCV.
- Demonstrated ability to take an ML model from training through evaluation.
- Preferred: experience deploying ML models to real-time or resource-constrained systems.
- Preferred: familiarity with perception architectures, RADAR, electro-optical, RF, or LIDAR sensors, and image-processing techniques for 3D reconstruction and target classification.
- Preferred: experience with CUDA kernels, TensorRT, GPU acceleration, distributed training, AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Preferred: experience with Linux, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and networking or communication protocols for distributed autonomy systems.
- Must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
