Responsibilities
- Design and develop lightweight, high-performance microservices and REST/gRPC APIs for BOS and external integrations.
- Consume, parse, validate, and process MQTT device messages while handling retries, duplicate messages, out-of-order events, and intermittent connectivity.
- Implement high-volume real-time and batch data processing with PostgreSQL persistence, optimized queries, indexing, and efficient resource usage.
- Build distributed systems using asynchronous communication, event-driven patterns, concurrency, idempotency, eventual consistency, and self-hosted messaging systems.
- Optimize services for throughput, latency, reliability, and scalability within fixed on-premise hardware limits.
- Develop container-friendly, configurable, debuggable services and support on-premise deployments, upgrades, and release packaging.
- Participate in code reviews and design discussions, collaborate with architects, DevOps, and QA, and improve overall system design.
- Troubleshoot production issues in customer and on-premise environments, perform root cause analysis, fix bugs, and improve system reliability.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of backend development experience and experience with production-grade systems and microservices architecture.
- Strong programming skills in C++ or Go.
- Experience with REST APIs, distributed systems, multithreading, and concurrency.
- Experience with MQTT, message queues or event systems, and real-time data processing.
- Strong PostgreSQL knowledge, including query optimization, indexing, and handling large datasets.
- Experience with Docker and basic knowledge of Linux systems and networking fundamentals.
- Exposure to Kubernetes or K3s and non-cloud deployment environments is preferred.
- Experience with on-premise or edge-based systems, Kafka, RabbitMQ, EMQX, Mosquitto, event-driven architecture, or hybrid on-premise and cloud synchronization is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, independent-working, and ownership skills.
