Responsibilities
- Contribute to application development activities across the software development lifecycle under senior team guidance.
- Review requirements, technical designs, and acceptance criteria, then develop, enhance, and maintain application components.
- Write readable, maintainable, testable code and create and execute unit tests.
- Address defects, participate in peer code reviews, and support testing and deployment activities.
- Investigate and resolve routine technical issues, escalating complex issues when appropriate.
- Apply secure coding practices and maintain technical documentation.
- Monitor assigned work, communicate risks or blockers, and complete deliverables within agreed timelines.
- Collaborate with team leads, developers, quality engineers, analysts, business partners, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree, college diploma, relevant technical certificate, or equivalent practical experience.
- Up to two years of relevant software development experience, including internships, co-op placements, academic projects, or personal projects.
- Foundational experience with .NET 8 or later, Python, or a comparable object-oriented programming language.
- Basic knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.
- Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, REST APIs, web services, JSON, XML, and Git.
- Foundational understanding of software development, coding, testing, and SDLC concepts.
- Ability to troubleshoot routine software issues, analyze problems, seek guidance, apply feedback, and meet agreed timelines.
- Exposure to CI/CD or GitHub Actions, cloud services, SSRS, SSIS, UML modelling, or GitHub Copilot is an asset.
- Clear communication, customer-focused professionalism, collaboration, ownership, adaptability, and willingness to learn are required.
