Responsibilities
- Own the technical roadmap for assigned areas, including reliability, scalability, security, technical debt, and system health.
- Design and implement robust backend systems with clean APIs and interfaces.
- Build and evolve highly scalable microservice systems for KYC and onboarding verification.
- Integrate with risk and mitigation systems to support regulatory compliance.
- Lead technical delivery for large-scale, organizationally complex projects and resolve blockers.
- Identify and solve high-impact problems across the team and wider organization.
- Make data-driven prioritization decisions based on customer and business impact.
- Improve automation, review quality, and operational efficiency in verification processes.
- Mentor engineers, conduct rigorous code reviews, and share engineering best practices.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience with Java 8+, the Spring framework, asynchronous message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, and highly scalable microservices.
- Strong product mindset and interest in customer experience and regulatory compliance.
- Experience solving complex, ambiguous problems using a holistic and data-driven approach.
- Exceptional communication skills for explaining technical and architectural concepts to diverse audiences.
- Commitment to clean, testable, maintainable, and performant code and rigorous code reviews.
- Proven ability to lead technical delivery for large-scale, organizationally complex projects.
- Extensive experience with relational and non-relational databases, including query optimization, schema design, and sensitive-data lifecycle management.
- Ability to mentor engineers and contribute to cross-team technical initiatives.
