Base Salary

$120k - $261k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement protocols and features for durable, available, scalable, and high-performance backend distributed block storage.
  • Create, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance, maintainability, effectiveness, and ROI.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to determine requirements and lead dependencies, design documents, project plans, release plans, and work items.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual, participate in on-call operations, monitor services, and restore systems during degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
  • Improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, performance, monitoring, and operations at scale while sharing knowledge with other engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience coding in C or C++, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
  • Preferred: master’s degree and 6+ years of technical engineering experience, or bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: 4 years of software delivery experience.
  • Preferred: experience with data structures and algorithms, testing, debugging, analytical work, large-scale distributed systems, cloud backend development and operations, performance, reliability, resiliency, scale-out, and multi-threaded programming.

Benefits

  • The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $119,800–$234,700 per year, with a separate San Francisco Bay Area and New York City range of USD $160,200–$261,000 per year.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
  • The position will remain open for at least 5 days and accept applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
